About Barter 16 Album
After Pink Tape, Barter 16 is Lil Uzi Vert’s fourth studio release. The album is a tribute to Young Thug’s game-changing debut mixtape, Barter 6, which he is now behind bars for. It is also a play on words for Uzi’s home street number, North 16 Street in Philadelphia.
The first hint of the project came after Pink Tape came out. Uzi had said that if Pink Tape went to #1 on the Billboard 200, this would be the next project to come out.
Sitting here and thinking about how I went #1 off a trial tape Sorry, Barter 16 mixtape is on its way, and here’s some free Slime.
In typical Uzi form, on August 12, 2023, Lil Uzi posted an Instagram story saying that they would drop the album if their friend Lil 1 DTE got 100,000 followers on his Instagram page. However, this did not happen.
Then, on Young Thug’s 32nd birthday, August 16, 2023, Uzi posted the original cover art for the mixtape on Instagram. The art on the cover is based on Thug’s famous cover for Barter 6.
